Don’t forget your warm ups! Warming up has many physiological benefits and prepares the body for the stresses about to be placed on it. Warming up helps expediting the delivery of oxygen and nutrients to the muscles along with pumping more blood into them. This will help to make them more pliable and will allow them to more easily stretch before contraction. Your body needs all the prep it can get for the workout you’re about to put it through!
Pick a proper warm up for the exercises you’re about to perform. If you’re about to go for a long run be sure to warm up the most important cardiovascular muscle, the heart! Getting ready for a big chest day? Use some resistance bands (video below) to get the shoulder joints ready for action.
